i have found that they fit true to the measured brannock size. Meaning, I measure at a 10, so I buy 10.5 shoes. With Whites, I got a 10 and its a perfect fit. If in doubt, trace your foot and send them to Bakers or Whites.

I am a 7C on the brannock. I got measured at 7B by baker`s. Here is my take on it:
    This is per White`s website-
By the time the creases set in, the length ever so slightly gets affected and the width will conform better to your feet as the leather stretches. Now had I sized down, I would have had even lesser room after the creases. I confirmed this with White`s as far as length goes and the width from Baker`s. So from my experience and take this is a grain of salt as it is YMMV, go a width down and stay with your brannock heel-to-toe length (or heel-to-ball, whichever is larger of the two readings).

But then again, the brannock only measures in 2d so definitely YMMV.
I have also owned a pair in my actual size and one 1/2 size down. They were both comfortable but I trust the measurements Baker`s got for me.

I have also read a lot of different takes on sizing from poohbang (thehooligan? from sufu) and the common consensus is 1/2 down. There were some who sent their measurements and felt like they were off.

I don`t get this. You measure at 10 so why don`t you buy size 10 shoes? Is your foot past the 10 line on the device?

in my own experience, SmokeJumper = TTS & SemiDress = size down 1/2.

my foot is right at the 10 mark, so if I go got a 10, it would be too small.

^'afraid the half-sole + slanted heels + 1/4" lowering = not a good idea. i thought the half-sole + 1/4" lowering on "Swing" last & blocked heels were a sound combination ... & it felt that way when i 1st got them. there was almost zero break in time due to the upturned toe of the swing last. but, later i realized there's something OFF__ aesthetically, as well as utility-wise.

i don't know if it's actual or just visual, but it seems there's a significant change on boots when you combine the half-soles + 1/4" lowering options. when it's time for re-heel, i'm planning to bring them up by 1/4" [to standard] & gun for a slight heel taper like on the Viberg boots.

SemiDress 5'" HorseHide MTO: Bison toe caps & backstays :: Swing Last [_i know it's not for every1]:: Vibram composite half-soles + Quabaug block heels [1/4 lowered] ::
