Brown oil is insanely thick and rugged, absolutely nothing like the dress leathers, though they will take a shine if desired. My boots in brown oil tan are lined and the lining is great in them.
Maybe this will help illustrate my point:

I would have put my CLX boots on top as I’m sure the oil tan leather could support them, but I didn’t want to drop and scuff the CLX.

The oil tan is quite a bit thicker than the dress leather, and either one seems fine with or without a liner, though the oil tan will get pretty darn thick with one I would think.

BTW, White's will send you sample swatches of the leather if you email and ask them too.

    Nope, no typo's hear.

I already own boots in 6 and 8 inch heights, and I'm thinking that 7 will be my sweet spot. Kyle at Baker's didn't bat an eyelid.

I've been waiting since 31st Jan for an order from Baker's. Is that usual?

That is a little unusual. I got my order from Bakers in a little over 5 weeks. when I placed my order at the end of March..

Seems like a long time. I also placed an order for a pair of SDs on January 31st, and they arrived (in Maryland) on March 27th. They were messed up, and I placed a new order on April 10th, these are scheduled to arrive tomorrow (though Kyle asked for a rush on Whites part since they messed up the first order).

I think 12 weeks is considered the standard wait for White's. You're looking at 20 weeks...

Guys.. Another question.. My recent order of the Whites SD were a 9.5C. The boots fit perfect in the width but looks like I could have gone down half a size to 9 in the length. I wear a 9D in Red Wing Iron Rangers and Kyle had also suggested that I go with the 9D in my earlier order but I wanted to be safe and went up half a size. Not a very big difference, but just wanted to see if I could nail the fit on my next pair.

Now I am wondering if a 9D SD or a Bounty Hunter would be the same width as the 9.5C and the difference only being in the length. My understanding based on Width Down, Size Up, That’s the Way We Like To post on Putthison.com. is shoes when they go up in size even if they are the same marked width would still be a little wider to preserve the overall shape of the boot.Essentially making a size 9D and a 9.5C very close in fit.

Did not mean to make this confusing, but that was the best I could explain what I wanted to know..
