I've had my pair for a year. Average about 2 wears a week. Heel remains in very god condition. It's definitely durable. Much better than the cat paws I had on my wescos.

it's a bad choice because of how hard it is to walk with the block heels. would have been easier to walk with the cuban heel and you could've lowered that as well

I have plantar fascitis, which is a recurring problem where the bottom of my foot is tender in one spot...kind of like a stone bruise if you know what that feels like. Unfortunately, I live in a city where all you do is walk around on uneven, mosaic sidewalks (Lisbon.) What kind of boot would be good for me so that I don't feel the road, so to speak, with the bottom of my feet?

I went with the cuban heel, single leather sole. I develop a quick wear on the heels. My feet need an alignment :D

I`m sure the cuban would save the heel from wearing down fast vs. the blocked heel.

Well hopefully the straight heel won't be an issue for me :/

Been waiting for the boots for a while, would be disappointing if what ya'll are saying is true.

If those of you who ordered the block heel have never walked in something with a tapered heel then you won't really notice a difference, they will feel like what you've always experienced. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

The tapered heel is better for walking (think about it this way...they don't do it on serious firefighting and logging boots because it looks cool....it serves a purpose), and it's a noticeable difference if you have boots with both styles. My first couple pair of White's had the tapered heel, then I ordered one with the block heel. Never really thought about there being a feel difference in walking but I noticed it immediately with the block heels compared to my others. Don't think I would order block heels again, but I like how the tapered heel looks anyway.

Hypothetical thought, school me cuz I don't know:

Years and years down the line, could these be re-soled w a tapered heel?
