Anybody have experience with the Stevens Boot? I think it is probably one of the most handsome models they make. If I understand it correctly the back half of the boot is a 55 last, with the arch support that that entails, and the front part is the MP last with the sleeker toe. Seems to me the best of both worlds. I wonder if they also weigh 2.5 pounds per shoe like the MP or Semi-Dress (believe me, this would be a plus).
That's the relatively new 5050 last. And yeah it's gonna be a brick just like any White's boot.

Me personally, I'd like the reverse -- a 55 toe and an MP heel! Call it the 0505 last.

MP size heel or mp backstay?

If you want a smaller heel, you can ask for a combo 55 last, meaning say a EE toe box and E heel or whatever width you prefer so long as it's only 1 size difference(AFAIK)

I've found myself with enough credit at Baker's to get two pairs of White's. Anyone wanting to share some recent wear n' tear photos to show off some leather options and aging? Probably going to steer clear of CXL and any 'special' leathers

Not sure if this is allowed so I'll delete if anyone objects, selling a pair of near new custom White's boots. Bought them during the Black Friday sale from Baker's but realized that I like having more room around my toes
  • Maker/Model: White's Custom 7" French Calf Smokejumper
  • Size: 9.5EE White's 5050 Last (combo MP toe & 55 last)
  • Leather: Black French Calf
  • Sole: Single Leather sole
  • Price: asking $450 USD shipped to the US and CA PP G&S, international shipping available at additional cost to buyer
  • Location: CA near Toronto
  • Wears/Condition: Tried on once indoors, almost new, I also trimmed the fringe off the kilties
  • Images:
  • Notes: Please see the last pic in the album for the exact config details. Selling as I can tell my toes will be happier in a more anatomical last.

Has anyone here visited Division Road for their previous White's Boots custom event? There's one coming up late September, and while I don't need another pair of boots, it might be fun to geek out on all the available leathers, lasts, and custom builds that are possible.

While Charlottesville VA isn't close for me (11 hour drive), it's much closer than Spokane WA. I'd maybe do a long weekend, fly in, hike, and drink beer in Charlottesville.

From the Division Road description:
White’s Made to Order
September 20th 12-6pm ET
September 21st 12-6pm ET
Design your own make-ups with the White’s team using any pattern and Last, a plethora of unreleased, specialty, and stock leathers, enhanced with custom specifications for rare hand-welted crafted collectibles. ($400 non-refundable deposit, to be applied to made-to-order. A deposit guarantees your appointment and service.)

I kind of want a caiman and bison custom pair of tall 10"+ packers or maybe swing lasted Smokejumpers... 😊

That sounds really interesting.
I have several pairs but I would love to get boots in some rare leather.
One leather that I have bee in eyeing is black cherry offered by Baker’s.
I have White’s in natural horsehide and that leather is special but unfortunately they no longer natural horsehide.

Called White's yesterday about my rebuild i paid for on May 1, since they'd estimated early August completion. They told me to expect another 3 to 4 weeks. So if anyone's curious, that's how long the wait seems to be right now, almost 4 months, assuming they make that new timeline.

I thought this was a funny thing that happened. I wanted to see what white's oxford looked like with some patina on it and instagram thought I was looking for drugs haha

That's a bit unfortunate.

The algorithm is probably programmed to look for common drug slang. 'Ox' is slang for oxycodone, aka 'hillbilly heroin', and 'whites' is slang for paper wraps with drugs in them.

I imagine Instagram read 'whitesoxford' and thought you were looking to buy a wrap of oxycodone. Delivered by a guy driving a Ford, presumably.

You learn something new everyday I guess haha. Not American so wasn’t aware how this related to drugs 😂

I realize this is probably too late of an answer, but I went to it a couple years ago. It was great. Very laid-back, spent tons of time just casually talking to the white’s CEO and trying on different boots.
I ordered a slightly custom pair, though as it turns out, even after all that that the sizing was slightly off. I haven’t had good luck getting my white’s sizing, partly my weird feet and partly I find their sizing to be a little inconsistent.
