I would keep them as is for $200!!!If they were my size I'd offer $200 and as soon as I got them they would go into a bucket of black dye.
I was thinking the same thing. There's going to be a day when they match, but after that as the upper gets darker... *shudders*I can't figure out if they'll look better or even worse after that natty veg tans up a bit...
someone lost their gig as a clown so no longer needed them"So which one of you guys is ballsy enough to pick these up:

That vamp looks like my mother's attempts at making custard. I'll have to let her know; she'll be pleased it's been put to good use.So which one of you guys is ballsy enough to pick these up:

I have the minority opinion but I think that ostrich leather doesn't look bad! That vamp looks like my mother's attempts at making custard. I'll have to let her know; she'll be pleased it's been put to good use.
I can attest to how durable it is too; cutlery bounces straight off it.
Well at least we won't have to fight over them!I have the minority opinion but I think that ostrich leather doesn't look bad!
Are they both lined in the vamp? I remember hearing some people say that the heavy work leathers are sometimes unlined in the vamp if you order the boot unlined, but not thinner leathers like brown dress. If the brown dress SDs are lined in the vamp, the extra layer of lining leather and the glue might be giving it more structure.I recently received a pair of bounty hunters (distressed roughout) and a pair of semi dress (dress brown), both with an unstructured toe box and 55 last. The BH profile is exactly what I expected - slightly flattened but well balanced. In contrast, the SD toe has more height to it, with a shape like a celestic toe but obviously very compressible. My questions are 1.) is this difference due to crafting variability or could it be related to some characteristic of the design/materials between models, and 2.) is the SD toe shape likely to flatten out in an appealing way despite a more bulbous starting profile? Thanks!

Both of these are unstructured toe.Can anyone share pictures of unstructured toe box with a toe cap on a BH or MP ?
This photo was when new. The toe has "dented" slightly. You can tell it is not structured but it has not caved in. I like the more svelte look and would recommend it. That said, these are not "Dress Boots" but I would not have a problem wearing them as dress boots with a soft toe. Also, I wear these primarily at the office and to an occasional construction site. I work as a general contractor, construction manager and not in the field all day as a superintendent or construction worker. If I did that, they would be rough-outs or Red Dog and not CXL.Can anyone share pictures of unstructured toe box with a toe cap on a BH or MP ?
I couldn't find many photos with a toe cap and unstructured toe. I know @Luscombe recently got a 5050 with unstructured toe. How is that toe cap after some wear ? Did it develop any creases ? Do you like it ?
