I'm looking into getting custom trousers. How much should I expect to spend?

I'm 5'8", slim, waist size 30". I'm looking to get slim-fitting pants. I haven't tried on the higher end brands like Borelli, Barba, RLBL, Incotex, but I think those would look good on me. What measurements should I start with?

You could probably get a MTM pair for just over $200 in the U.S. at somewhere like LS Clothiers in NYC. Going MTM at a place like Brooks Bros. or Ralph Lauren (during a trunk show) would run probably around $400, depending on the cloth. Bespoke, where you'e likely have one fitting, would probably run you $400 to $600 at mid-level, and all the way up $1K at a famous NYC tailor. Where do you live? Sound like most important things for you will be the rise, knee, and ankle measurements.

I live in Corona, CA. Is there a general measurement for slim-fit pants?

Not sure what you mean by "general measurement." If you're 5'8 though, I'd think that you'd want the ankle to measure appx. 8.25" across (that will be pretty slim, but should work for your height) and then maybe a 10.25" rise. Then just tell your tailor you don't want too much fullness in the upper leg, but rather want only a slight taper down to the ankle. That should give you a lower rise, slim leg all the way down.

Are those measurements similar to the high end slim-fitting pants from Borelli, Barba, or RLBL?

You could very easily search the B/S forum for those brands of pants in your size for which sellers always provide measurements.

Couldn't find any. Anyone with 30" waist in those pants?

I typically wear Dolce&Gabanna slim fitting low rise dress pants and ask my tailor recently how much it would cost to get a pair in Super 120s wool. I was quoted roughyl $350--of course this would be fully lined and better than RTW because it's in your fabric choice/pattern and made to perfectly fit you.

What's your waist size? Do you happen to know what the measurements would be for a 30 waist?
