Can you give me a comparison of these two shirt-makers and which you would recommend (in terms of quality, value, price)? Looking to pick up 6-12 shirts in the $100-$200 range. Any other shirt-makers in NYC you might recommend would also be appreciated.

Do they even make bespoke shirts for under $200? (any material)

I don't think Turnbull & Asser does them for under $200. As for Ascot Chang, that price is very doable, but not if you are looking for particular high-end shirting lines like Thomas Mason. Having said that, in my most recent order of shirts (last Fall) two of them were from Thomas Mason Silverline books and they came in at slightly under 200 each (I think $195).

I have all my shirts made by J. Lucas Clothiers. They have the same fabrics as the top makers; Mason, Loro Piana, etc.

The shirts are great and I believe their prices are far better.

Neither AC nor T&A sell bespoke shirts in that price range.

CEGO, although what you pay for is what you get in terms of fabric. You can of course sample all the fabrics before purchasing there.

I also recommend CEGO. Good selection of fabrics, great fit, quality construction.

This price is for custom made T&A shirts in NYC. Their other option is ready to wear shirts, which are available in different collar sizes. (I've bought those before from London--the price used to be 75 GBP but recently became 115 GBP.)

I am not sure about the exact distinction between "bespoke" and "made to measure" with regard to those shirts. I have heard different opinions on that matter. Many shirt companies seem to refer to a MTM process as "bespoke."

T&A Lodong has a "stock special" program that is short of full bespoke. You can choose the collar size, the body size, the sleeve length, and other details. It's short of true MTM. I don't think they offer true MTM. And I don't know if they offer the stock special program in NY.
