Does anyone know what are the current offerings from RL in purple label (Edward green) shoes.
I've never seen pictures of them anywhere other than on EBay. Oh, and for a while, Bluefly carried the RLPL version of the EG Cardiff. There are a couple of RLPL loafers on EBay right now -- a model I think might be called the Longacre -- on the very nice last 100.
Some of the models are the same as regular EGs, such as the Dover and some monkstraps and loafers (just with diff. names and interior labels). But, there are a few that seem to be unique to RLPL. There was one RLPL pair I saw about 5 months ago that came across on EBay that looked like a chopped off chelsea boot (sort of a shoe-boot) -- striking and 100% unique. Never seen it before or since.
They have a black captoe. Wonder if it is the Fawsley or the berkeley.
The Mansion in NY is one of my scheduled trip stops, I'll pay attention for this.
They may have a few southwolds at some locations. Any confirmations??
I was just at the Mansion on 72nd, not impressed AT ALL with the RLPL EGs. Mostly all black, none very distinguised looking. I was really disapointed.
If you happen to be near a Polo store (not an outlet; a genuine Polo store), go in and ask to see the Purple Label shoe binder. That will contain pictures of all of the PL shoes available. They probably won't have them in stock, but they can order them from one of the bigger stores.
Of course, given Phil's bleak description, you may not find anything of interest.
