cuffs and length for short sleeves on dress shirts

I know i know, short sleeves on dress shirts are generally terrible. However, with 100+ degree weather in texas approaching, and with a weak AC system in the office, i am going to get a couple shirts converted to short sleeve.

Besides saying "don't", do you have any advice for what to ask for? Should i get the sleeves cuffed back a little? How long should they be... just above my elbow? These are on slim-fit shirts so the arms will not be baggy.

Rolling up the sleeves doesn't allow for enough ventilation to the pits? Ironically, at work up here in Canada I can wear blazers in summer as the AC is too cool, but in winter I sweat with even a light merino sweater because the furnace is blazing... Despite my prejudice against short sleeve dress shirts, I'd say hem the sleeve to a little lower than mid bicep; you don't want it resting on your elbow or riding up and showing pit hair like an undersized tee; I'd want at least 4 inches of fabric on the inside of the sleeve for my own (long) arms. The size of the cuff would need to be in proportion to the collar, I think for a short sleeve you want to use shirts with a small point or spread collar without too much structure, otherwise the neck will look out of proportion.

From one Björn to another, "Don't." I worked in Houston two summers ago and I managed just fine with tropical wool and linen suits. Certainly there was no need for this sartorial crime.

I like you as a poster. You usually give well thought replies and avoid the snark. I don't want you to take this the wrong way, but DON'T. Short sleeved dress shirts invariably look terrible. You're far better off wearing poplins, linens or even seersucker.

Well, what if we assume this was a bespoke camp shirt? I've considered having short sleeve camp shirts made for the weekend but I haven't quite figured out how the sleeves should be. Length and possibly cuffed?

a mitered cuff is pretty nice, like the ones on the black fleece shirts

with the arms at your side,bend the forearm at a right angle.
the sleeve should clear and not be caught in your arms crook.
