Any suggestions (or links) to designers that make some good but reasonably priced ($1-300 range...or less) pairs of cufflinks? I would prefer designers who make unique or interesting cufflinks as opposed to the usual drivel with a price greatly inflated based on the name attached.

Robert Talbott. The better ones retail for $300+ , can be found on ebay for $100 - $150 , and you just missed a massive load of them moving through the Buying and Selling forum for between $60 and $100. There's still a few to be had there.

You can see most of their styles here

I've bought a lot of inexpensive, but interesting cufflinks on ebay. I know that you asked for specific designers, but I thought I'd throw this out there.

I bought 2 pair on tuesday, I didn't care for any of the Rotenier ones today.

Tiffany's sterling links are in that price range, and only about half of them are ugly.
