How do you decide how much cuff to add to your dress pants? By material of pants?

I usually do 1 and 1/2''

I'm sure others may chime in but one Q would be, how tall are you? At 6' 1" with a 34" inseam I fancy a 1.75" cuff on average, which is not the norm. And this depends on how wide the bottoms are.

I've heard that two inches is "SF Approved", too. But doesn't cuff height have an effect on the visual effect of the pants as related to the wearer's height?

For example, this is my WAYWT from yesterday:

These pants have huge cuffs, like 2.5". Is that wrong for my body shape, or is it just a matter of wearer's preference?

These trousers are also too short by about 1"

It depends on the pant material. I go from 1.75" to 2".

So since we're on the topic, what are your thoughts about WHEN to cuff your trou? I know the traditional rule is to cuff pleat-front pants and not cuff flat-front pants. But I dunno, I can't imagine no-pleat on a pair of flannel dress pants, say.

Cuff them all, unless the fabric is so thick and soft that it just won't fold back on itself (heavy moleskin, 19oz tweed)

I usually go 1-3/4" on cuffs, but only with pants tapered to 7.5" at the hem

My suits which are often tapered to 8" I prefer 1-1/2" cuffs.

I do 1.75" Larger cuffs seem to be in fashion at the moment. More than 2" seems too much for me.

i typically do 1 3/4".....but im pretty tall....recently ive been thinking about getting a slim wool pant and having a big 3" cuff put on em. Ive been liking that a lot, just not sure how it will look on me personally.
