Just got these on eBay. I think the settings are silver (there is a worn away hallmark). Hard to date. Shape suggests Art Deco, but not the motif, which is more Nouveau or Victorian. [IMG]

I'll venture Late Victorian. Is it painted glass, a bit like Hinterglas?

It's probably neither. They're persian (or persian style). Age on these is difficult to tell because they still make new ones like this even now. If it's better quality, it should be done on bone like most persian miniature type objects but I can't tell with these.

Having a hard time getting a good photo. There is amber in the middle, the rest is silver.

Even with the bad photo those look pretty cool. Are they from a thrift shop, EBay, another shop?

There is a Botanical Garden in Richnmond (Lewis Ginter). We have a membership and like to support their gift shop (by buying many gifts there). I had liked these there and SO got them for moi.

They also have some stunning silver earings and pendants which are sterling silver with iridescent pieces of butterfly wings. (Think there must be many sources of these). However, no cufflinks. If I find the right pair, I will get them converted.

You must be kidding. Good find. Whenever we go to a museum (which is quite often) I look for links in the gift shop and have never found anything remotely wearable or within a reasonable price.

That makes those a doubly nice find.
