Weird question for experienced martial arts people:

So I was fighting yesterday, and I decided I would let myself get choked out rather than tap. When I regain my senses, my trachea hurts like a bitch. I sleep on it, and this morning, it still hurts to swallow, and I'm talking like I've got a disease in my throat.

Also three fingers on my left hand have had minor pins and needles since the event.

Should I go see a doc or will this go away naturally?

See a doc- and next time, tap out.

I'm not sure you had your senses to begin with....

Well, it's no doubt your throat would be sore from that, but with the sensation in your hand happening, I'd see the doc sooner rather than later.

Fair enough. I think part of it was I thought I had more time. I failed.

I'd get to a doctor immediately.

How was he choking you? If your getting pins and needles that might be something more nerve related, he could have done something to tweak vertebrae. I'd definitely see a doctor. If you want to see what it's like to get choked out do it during controlled conditions, not while your fighting. Even then, its not really something you should do often.
