any comments on the revitalisation of the crombie name - i see some businessman (lewis?) has invested in the label, opened a number of stand alone stores in the uk and updated the label with more modern silhouettes and the such

anyone have any experience with the label?

I posted a thread not too long on this board asking if anyone knew of a place in New York that sells Crombie or at least uses their cashmere cloth to tailor an overcoat. My experience with Crombie is that my father owned a Crombie 100% cashmere overcoat. It was purchased in the early 70's before I was born. I must say that when I wear it, I still get complements for it. On their webiste, it seems they are trying to reestablish themselves, although the website can still use a bit of work. They have a great history and it is good to see a brand like that gather momentum again. By the way, if you would like to see that overcoats, movies by Guy Richie uses them extensively in their main characters. Check out "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" and "Snatch".

Hope this helps.....
