comparing the colors in the catalog (which in theory are taken under very similar lighting conditions), the difference appears fairly minimal beechnut drummond to dark brown edgware

Great price. I know Barneys also carries several C&J. Last time I was in their SF store I tried on the Westbourne as it was on sale for ~$300 or so (and you know they will be offering discounts this season). I thought it was too pointy and the proportions were outta whack (on my foot). But, I'd try the Lowndes, great looking shoe.

It just occurred to me, the Edgware is very similar to JM Weston's latest shoe too. You may have seen the photo around, it's the one they're showing in black patent + light grey suede. It's quite a stunning shoe in photos but a bit too dainty in person.

Chestnut appears to be a greater contrast to either Beechnut or Dark Brown. That chestnut Westbourne is next on my list. Love that shoe.

I called today (After I sent them the shoes) and was told that the color is correct, and due to the finish being put on by hand there can be a slight difference.....SLIGHT!

I want mine to look like the others in this thread.

Oh well.

Sorry, no offence, but:

- three different kind of redish brown in one shoe
- wide spread lacing
- leather surface looks in some areas like plastic

Is this a high end result?

Golf_Nerd,

1- Perhaps the result of uneven polishing by the owner
2- Owner might have high arches. I straight lace all my bals and some form a V like that, others don't. As long as they fit well...
3- I suspect it's due to the picture/camera...
