Planning on picking up a pair of these in Antique Nubuck as soon as the guy from plal.com responds to my email. Was wondering if anyone here could help with the sizing? Should I stick with my normal dress shoe size? Do they run big and thus I should size down? Size up, maybe? Would appreciate any help I can get with this.

Thanks!

For me, the 348 last runs a full size smaller than US sizing. I wear a 10.5 US in most shoes and wear a 9.5 on the 348. The 348 has an extended toe making it a bit more elongated. In most other C&J lasts I am a 10. Hope that helps.

anyone with multiple 348s feel the tetbury suede chukkas, in specific, are a big large?

i own the lowndes monks in calf leather, and tetbury suede, both UK9E (AE-PA size is 10D, as well as pretty much all other shoes)

dont know what it is about the tetbury but they feel much larger than the lowndes. particularly in the toe area. i think it is due to the stretchiness and softer structuring of the suede? in fact i think i could go even half a size down (UK8.5E)

also, does C&J not list retail pricing for their shoes? i can get to northampton or london quite easily if i knowo their stock and pricing

I wear a 10.5 in the 337, ordered the same size in the Tetbury. Was really disappointed when it arrived and was way too large. Ended up sending it back for the 10 which fits much better. Perhaps with all of the extra leather around the ankle and vamp, and the elongated toe in the 348, sizing down from your normal C&J size is a good idea.

In general I wear 1/2 size less (8UK) in last 348 than I do with other C&J lasts like the 337 (8.5 UK).

Having said that, the pair of 8UK Tetbury I bought in suede now wear almost too large. This is due to the nature of the suede that stretches more than regular calf. Not an issue, as I put an insole, but I could probably have gone to a 7.5UK in this specific model.

From experience, the antique nubuck stretches very much like suede. I have got two pairs of Merton loafers, one in black claf and one in brown antique nubuck. Both have the same size, but the antique nubuck has expanded much more than the calf, and I definitely should have taken them 1/2 size smaller.

So I don't think you take too much of a risk going for a full size smaller on this particular model.

I'd suggest sizing down an additional 1/2 size in the Tetbury - my Lowndes are snug in 8E and the Tetburys are loose.

I agree with the above I sized down 1/2 a size on the Tetbury I usually take a UK8.5 in the 348 but this felt huge.
