Hey all,

Looking to order a pair of the Crockett and Jones Tetbury from Barney's and was looking for some sizing input. I usually wear an 11US (sometimes a 10.5) and have heard some conflicting info on how the Tetbury is sized. Some say go one full size down from your US size to account for British sizing, but I saw another thread where people were saying the Tetbury that Barney's carries is already in US sizes. To add to the confusion I tried Barney's "sizing calculator" and it said I should order a size 12!

Any suggestions?

If it helps here's what I wear generally:

Magnanni: 10.5-11
Meermin: 10 (UK size)
Floresheim: 11
Ferragamo: 11
Mercanti Fiorentini: 10.5

FWIW, the last pair of Barney's C&J I got were listed as US size but actually arrived marked with UK size (1 full size down from US.) I have over a dozens pairs from them that were all listed and marked as US size with a seemingly variable delta to UK (1/2 or 1 from season to season). You might consider ordering two sizes to compare.

+1. I ordered a Barneys US10 Tetbury a couple of years back. No idea of the current sizing conversion, but it was both longer and more narrow than my UK9 Tetburys. Bad fit for me, so I sent them back.

Hmm so perhaps I should try a 10.5? Maybe it'll be perfect, maybe a touch big, and go from there?

My experience was a few years ago, so I have no idea about the current conversion, but mine was definitely strange. Almost like a US10D was a UK9.5D or something.

I wear UK9 in Carmina Simpson and the Tebury (suede) in UK8.5 is slightly too big (wear them with insoles). So they run quite big. Other models on the 348 last feel much tighter / shorter.

I’m an 8 in Nike sneakers, UK 7 in Carmina Simpson, and UK 6 in C&J Tetbury ( have 2 pairs). I hope this helps!

The issue with a Barney’s C&J is more complicated than just sizing the 348. They list US sizes when you order online. There’s no consistency season to season whether that’s 1 full size delta or 1/2 size to uk. Plus they’ve often also been marked with us sizes so even if you get a good fit, you don’t know for sure what the uk size is.

It’s not rocket science y’all.....order 2 pairs covering the size range and return the pair not needed. Or get fitted and know your size before ordering.

May be moot anyway. Check latest news about Barney’s.
