I have two C&J seconds' - the calfskin pair, needed a good polish and did not look like seconds; however, the suede pair, despite looking in good condition did not look like standard C&J's (although almost no one notices).

They may have 'Subs' embossed on the sole - so if anyone catches a glimpse they'll know your 2nd best

Can anyone tell me how the 8.5E(UK) on the 337 last fits? There's a pair on ebay i'm considering but i've never tried on a pair of C&Js. I'm a 9.5D in my Allen Edmonds(MacNeil and Sanford)

8.5 on the 337 should fit a standard US 9.5 just fine.

I own 4 pairs of Crocket & Jones shoes, purchased over a 20 year period, as well as one pair of Mansfields, they are all marked as
seconds & I have not yet discovered why? C&J's size 9 1/2 E fits me like a glove (where do you get 1/2 sizes these days & different widths too?) I look on them as partners for life, this was a marriage made in heaven, but if you are very hard on a pair of their shoes they even offer a refurbishment service!

A very happy customer that now lives in Spain.
