I just purchased a pair of Crockett & Jones Edgeware in dark brown. They look nice with the minimal amount of broguing. My problem is after paying several hundred for them i can't help but notice the heel cushion is severely misaligned. So much so that it is becoming visible on one side. How could this happen? I could do a better job of aligning it if i were blind. Seems like English Northampton workmanship is overrated. I feel like i have paid for the mystique of the brand when they were obviously not made with the slightest care.

Bad luck of the draw....unfortunately stuff like this happens even at Edward Green Levels... nothing surprising here move on, when you buy online there is always a chance you'll get some piece of crap garbage handiwork by a an esteemed manufacturer, happened to me as well, and probably happens to many people on this forum. If it doesn't affect your walking comfort then just live with it -or else go to a cobbler and fix it. Or else complain to Crockett and Jones customer service and see if they can give you recompense.
