Hi all, I can't keep myself from thinking of the Green Harlechs to pair with my Whiskey ones so I've registered interest haha. If this does move forward, does anyone have any experience with green shell?

No idea how to dress with shoes of that color, I've only ever owned various shades of brown and black.
And a welcome from me, too.
I have a wingtip shoe from C&J (Swansea) made as single MTO in green shell cordovan and it works perfectly fine with beige or grey wool trousers, with denim, with navy, beige and grey flanell trousers, ...

These are fantastic make-ups. I assume that I couldn't have a narrow width as part of the GMTO , right?

On the eyelets what’s thoughts on vintage brass? Looks class.. also I can live with leather but would prefer Ridgeway. Isn’t a deal breaker.

If we have six gents for the green we can email Alex at Jermyn street out details. If we could agree on the eyelets and sole before we contact her that’s be superb.

It may be easier to move some of these GMTO forward if they are staggered. Allowing folks more time to spread costs out over time could help more participants to be active. We are trying to lift up a number all at once and that compels people to make choices.

That’s always been the case. They’d have to make a choice now as they are all active. It’s a weirdly unusual level of interest this time I agree but how do you chose which to stagger? The green one we think we have hit six on yesterday was the least likely to succeed so momentum and serendipity played in our favour.

I see your point, and it’s interesting, but I don’t think it’s feasible to do it ”server side” as it’s already staggered more efficiently on the ”client side”. People sign the lists when they are ready to move (I hope), and only they can know when they are.

Those organizing the MTOs do not have easy access to the information needed to prioritize and schedule the orders in any meaningful way. Not saying it couldn’t be done, but, speaking for myself, I would find it hard to muster much enthusiasm for GMTO:s if any more work was part of the process. They need to stay fun, or it’s just MTO:s forward.

As someone partially responsible for the recent surge in GMTO interest, I have followed this logic, i.e. that putting several parallel proposals in the sheets makes them more concrete and gives people more choice. If my theory holds this should maximize the number of completed orders. I don’t expect all proposals to go through at the same time nor do they need to, but this way everyone can monitor progress and make their minds up in their own time.

Deciding between burgundy and green for Harlechs, are we settled on double leather for green? Would prefer ridgeway!

Wish I had seen this before I wrote my essay in response to @harveyrabbit as it sums up the main points I was trying to make in about 5,000 fewer words. However, I don’t think anyone needs to ”make a choice now”, there are no deadlines, right?
