I have updated the list in #post_7935043
Please let me know if I have missed someone or have gotten something confused.
OK, Gentlemen, this MTO needs to be submitted. After having listened to people in PMs the welt will be a storm welt.
Some will not like this, but some wouldn't have liked a flat welt. I guess that's life.
Basically, this means it will be an original Harlech boot in Whiskey shell, last 341, double leather soles, all blind eyelets.
PMs will follow Thursday or Friday to the first 12 on the list with how to proceed.
Cross post from the C&J for RL Thread. We've been given the green light to have a GMTO of the Gianni Boot. Its gonna be the original Gianni Boot, but with two notable changes 1. Pull Tab -> No Pull Tab, 2. Dark sole edges -> Antique sole edges.
The full specifications would be as follows.
Upper: Brown Shell Cordovan
Sole: Double Leather Sole
Eyelets: 5 Exposed Brown Metal + 4 Brown Metal Hooks
Pull Tab: No Pull Tab
The full price of the boot will be £650 or £541.67 excluding VAT. Shipping starts from £10 in the UK and up to £70 . For within the EU, America and Canada it tends to be £30 most of the time.
Also if anyone wishes to add shoe trees onto their order these will be an additional £60, of which is also an additional £5 postage.
We already have 8 people on our side so we only need 4 more to make this GMTO happen. Really good chance for those who can't fit the original Gianni boot and for those who want this lovely boot but RL no longer makes it.
Feel free to contact me if you have any question.
I'm very interested.
What does C&J antique edge look like? Do you have pictures?
How would you size this relative to an Alden last?
How long would it take? And how would payment work? 25% down?
Time for another update.
I have PM'd the first 12 on the list below on how to move on. Many of you have PM'd me back and some have also gotten in touch with Lauren at C&J. Great!
For those who are undecided, it could be good to know that according to Lauren at C&J they have enough Whiskey shell to fill this order, but then there won't be any more Whiskey available until some time next year.
The final makeup will look just like @mdubs boots in this picture, except it will have double leather soles instead of Dainite soles.
OK, the list at the moment (12 pairs will be made):
Reserved for C&J
Edit: Lauren at C&J told me they have reserved a pair for someone who had been waiting for a Whiskey shell Harlech MTO to happen, so the list has been modified.
Great news. Please let me know the following steps.
At the moment we'll only be able to have 12 pairs done. There was a chance to submit 20 orders but as you can see on the list we won't be able to reach that number, so I don't see that as an option any more. I'll be happy just to get 12 confirmed and paid... (Full payment upfront, by the way.)
But with a little bit of luck you'll make it into the first 12!
Speaking of the availability of whiskey shell: Within the next couple of days I expect to open a GMTO for the Lindrick in… Whiskey shell. Right now I'm finalizing the details with Lauren, but as TommyB rightly mentioned, it won't take off before the beginning of next year due to the shortage of whiskey shell. Since there's already a couple of MTOs going on in this thread I thought about doing it in another thread to not steal anyone's thunder. But let me know if you have preferences for either solution. For now just the Lindrick to wet your appetite:
I placed my order for the Harlech today and was told by Lauren that our Whiskey Shell Skye MTO Boots are in hand and she is packaging them for shipment now.
I'm really exited to see those! I really considered joining in myself, but chose to wait and now going for the Lindrick instead (which is very similar in style). I hope you will share a lot of photos with us – not least to wet the appetite for the Lindrick
Can't wait to see pics, those and the Lindrick boots are great models!
Sweet. Seems like we've been waiting forever for these.
What's this make-up going to be?
