I haven't voted or indicated I want to be in the MTO, but from personal experience with other group buys, people really aren't in until they've made a deposit or put some money down.

Granted these group MTOs could be a different beast.

I've got no skin in the game since I was in the original Harlech order.
But this cat herding/survey/group discussion is what makes some GMTOs such a PITA.

I agree. Less democracy, more dictatorship.

    +1, fellow Harlech GMTO organizer.

You have to be somewhat rude at times if you want to get this done...

^ Yeah, someone needs to take the initiative on the makeup, see if it's possible with Lauren, then wrangle. Assuming you aren't asking for anything wacky this should all be easy - it's a ripping boot!

++1, unfortunately, in the GMTO world, not everyone is going to be 100% happy with every detail. Just need to make a decision and stick with it... Don't necessarily need to be rude, firm is a better word... ;-)

At the rate this is going there will be 6 other GMTO's that will use up all your whiskey shell first...

I'm waiting to hear back from Papa Doble, then we should be able to move forward with the first run.

As long as we can agree on a make up...

Yup, Hoit was the supreme, benevolent dictator! [IMG] And my walnut shell Harlechs on double leather are getting good wear. Wore them last night to see Wicked (for the 2nd time).

Just want to say how glad I am to have gotten in on the Skye 2 GMTO (and that it went in before all this Harlech madness). So many cooks in this pot. :)

Hoit managed the Whiskey Harleck Boot 341 Boot perfectly. It all went down very smoothly without a lot of hassle for C&J. Why not order the very same boot on last 325 to appeal to a larger fit this time. Easy for the boot maker as well. Double leather soles .. Whatever last 341, 325 .. Gotta get the show on the road. Forget all the fancy sole options.. You don't like the Whiskey Boot with double leather soles, change it out later on.. Whatever .. Thread is getting long and thanks Hoit for the original very bitchin makeup. Everyone else stop bitchin about soles. Buy a f...king tank for foul weather.. Jeez

^ Haha chips. To the point as ever!

I do think that an interesting, different look would be to have shiny brass hardware. Would really pop with the golden whiskey cordovan. Not my thing, but would be interesting.

I do think that double leather is king on this model, primarily because I consider whiskey shell to be a fair-weather material which I wouldn't want to wear in the rain or snow. Whiskey Harlech to me is a nice weather spring/summer/autumn boot.

I have to agree with this. I highly doubt anyone is going to want to wear the whiskey shell out in the rain or snow and get their shell all spotted up. Although personally I've found shell to play a lot nicer with snow than rain (as you can just shake the snow off before things get spotty).
