my thoughts EXACTLY
OK so the "Alt-Wien" style shoes are the C&J "Newport"
They're on the 335 last, which is a tad chunky
How about a 325 last version of these, on dainite, in cordovan? Who'd be down for that as a MTO project?
Would hate for that to happen on any shoe, but hurts more on shell for me.
Last time I checked with Lauren (only a few weeks ago) C&J were unwilling to change lasts for shoes as it would involve an entirely new design.
An "Alt-Wien Newport" in whiskey would be outstanding!
enough with the whiskey...
can you tell i'm not a fan?
where are the dark brown guys...? this is C&J's best cordovan offering...
btw the pebble grain cheviots are nice...
I'm with you! I am fine with grain even
Whiskey is not a versatile color. Also a little jarring because of its brightness
I'd like a brown cordovan. Call it an "Alt Wien" Marlow
I would be in it for some grain color be it Cheviot or Alt Wien. C&J has so many grain offerings. What do you guys think? How many are interested? I am thinking about sending Lauren a message to inquire about various grain offerings or maybe @hoit1981 (pretty please) would mind dropping by C&J store in NY and taking pictures of grain swatches. I think you were at some point interested in grain colors too.
My whiskey Harlechs are my most supple cordovans - the quality of the C&J whiskey is outstanding. The Newports in whiskey would be amazing. Brown C&J cordovan is a fantastic color, but more difficult to maintain and take care of. I really like C&J whiskey.
Haven't there already been 2 C&J whiskey projects already? And from the looks of it, there's a whiskey Cheviot gaining steam.
Not every shoe needs to be whiskey. Can't we give brown a chance?
That grain Newport is killer. I want.
Grain shell boot on the 325/341 last? perhaps dark brown?
Grain shel......... If only.
Grain shell is not available.
How about a different direction from cordovan? For those of us in the really cold areas, a shearling lined Snowdown would be great!
