Hoit1981, so are you suggesting blind eyelets and hooks, or metal exposed eyelets and hooks, on the grain Gianni?

I ask because it seems that C&J's metal eyelets turn green over time? NAMOR and others, do you know what I'm talking about? Or am I full of it?

Wow this thread moves pretty quickly. A couple of administrative details: payment structure / payment method? I'm on the fence still :embar:

I was thinking black eyelets and black hooks. Hadn't heard about C&J hardware turning green... Anyone care to chime in?

They killed my brother.

Haha. I dunno. I just prefer the look of eyelets. Yea speedhooks are convenient, blah blah blah. I am thinking all exposed eyelets. Not blind.

For the first Harlech GMTO the process was to play phone tag with Lauren, give her your CC number, have that CC be declined because it's a relatively large overseas charge without card present, so play phone tag with Lauren some more, give her a different CC number, and then be charged the full amount.

Anyone interested in a unique derby shoe in cordovan?

Last 325 is pretty awesome. And if I could get it in a UK G-fitting as part of a MTO project, even better. The US D-width Marlow's give me painful blisters in the little toe area if I walk in them for too long.

MTO models I can think of:

SHORTWINGS

1). Burgundy cordovan shortwing on the 325 (Basically a burgundy Marlow)
2). Whiskey cordovan shortwing on the 325

U-CAPS (Guessing they can make a U-cap... here's one from Vass if you don't know what one looks like. A nice departure from a typical shortwing)

3). Burgundy cordovan U-cap on the 325
4). Whiskey cordovan U-cap on the 325
5). Brown cordovan U-cap on the 325

CAPTOE SINGLE MONKS (A captoe would help minimize the "Shar-Pei" dog crease effect on cordovan. A plain toe is not ideal. Think a chunky captoe like the one on this EG model

6). Burgundy cordovan captoe single monk
7). Whiskey cordovan captoe single monk
8). Brown cordovan captoe single monk

^^^^^^ I've been praying that someone would put together a GMTO on the 325 last! Just got the burgundy and country grain Pembrokes and a dark brown Coniston. I think the 325 is the perfect last( for me anyway). Count me in for any shortwing or plain toe makeup on the 325- always and forever

I am interested to do and MTO for a modified Harrogate:

Exactly the same above, same pattern and last 341 but with:

Flat Welt
Mahogany or Dark Brown Grain

Brass (preferred) or Silver Buckles
Dainite (preferred) or Double leather sole

Anyone interested?

Let me know
Thanks

The very small detail that makes a real difference (for me) is the squared storm welt of this batch, compared to the rounded storm welt of the previous MTO.

My perfect version would be:

Double leather soles, squared storm welt, four metal eyelets and four speedhooks, a third MTO? :D

Update: I believe that we have enough to get this project moving forward. I am going to re-contact Lauren at C&J and will reach out to everyone soon. More to come soon!

Gentlemen, As I have stated, I would like to go ahead and try and organize a Group MTO of the Skye Wingtip Boot. Based upon my experience with C&J Group MTOs, the price should be £700 (with VAT) or £562.50 (without VAT - People in US) and £30 for shipping plus if shoe trees are desired, they are an additional £60 (with VAT) or £50 (without VAT). So for US people, the shoes will be approximately, £592.50 (~$975) shipped. The specifications would be as follows - if you want to try and veto a decision, please let me know.
• Crockett & Jones Skye 2 Wingtip Boot
• Last: 335
• Upper: Whiskey Shell Cordovan
• Sole: Double Leather Sole
• Eyelets: 4 Exposed Brown Metal + 4 Brown Metal Hooks (Similar to Lindricks)
• Welt: Storm - Possibly flat if possible
• Edging: Antique
