Hmmmmm. That may be too hard to pass up. I remember we tried this last year....
Not shell, dark brown calf grain
Cool. Shall I put you down as somewhat interested?
Is there a picture of a grain gianni out there?
Not that I'm aware of, I believe it currently only exists in dark brown shell.
I was thinking a dark brown grain - probably the one used for the Islay. Dark exposed eyelets and speedhooks, double Dainite with storm welt.
Might anyone else be interested in GMTO of Mike's shell double monk? It would fill a gap in my collection between navy shell and chocolate calf.
Any chance at all eyelets?
Oh yeah. He's interested...
This looks much better than our version with the spedhooks. The winning combo is all eyelets and double leather soles I think.
LOL. I'm more interested if we end up at all eyelets.
What you are really interested in is actually a Whiskey Wingtip! I can see it already!
I normally like speed hooks but I agree with @laufer that I would have liked our first round to have been with all eyelets. I do prefer the leather soles for this makeup, though.
Dubs the car salesman. "What can I do to get you into a whiskey wingtip boot today??"
If others are keen for all eyelets I don't see that it would be a deal-breaker for me personally. Why do you despise speed-hooks so much friendo?
The eyelets and hooks seem to be nicely aligned (on my boots at least), suggesting you could easily convert the first batch of these boots to all eyelets. Not sure hidden would work as the marks from the hooks would likely be visible. You could change to all exposed agatine (or something) quite easily. Personally, I really dig the hidden & speed-hooks
