Bumping with more updates... Just need a few more and then to get everyone to be 100%. Zero hard feelings to those who dropped out, this ain't a cheap boot. Gentlemen, As I have stated, I would like to go ahead and try and organize a Group MTO of the Skye Wingtip Boot. Based upon my experience with C&J Group MTOs, the price should be £700 (with VAT) or £562.50 (without VAT - People in US) and £30 for shipping plus if shoe trees are desired, they are an additional £60 (with VAT) or £50 (without VAT). So for US people, the shoes will be approximately, £592.50 (~$975) shipped. The specifications would be as follows - if you want to try and veto a decision, please let me know.
• Crockett & Jones Skye 2 Wingtip Boot
• Last: 335
• Upper: Whiskey Shell Cordovan
• Sole: Double Leather Sole
• Eyelets: 4 Exposed Brown Metal + 4 Brown Metal Hooks (Similar to Lindricks)
• Welt: Storm - Possibly flat if possible
• Edging: Antique

We need at least 2 more and then will need to get everyone confirmed at 100% certain. I really would like to have 15 total before we go forth... Please PM me or post here if you want to try and change anything, but note I hate Danite and will not switch to that. -Mike

Bumping for people interested in a non-shell winter boot:

C&J for RL Gianni in dark brown grain, dark exposed eyelets and dark speedhooks, double Dainite with storm welt.

Very interested:

DoctorHolliday
kwhitelaw

Somewhat interested:
fitzcooper

Price is likely to be £350 exc. VAT (a bargain).

I do believe we'll need 12 on this order to get it made. I could contact Lauren and see if we could do a smaller order of 6 but I'm pretty sure we'll need the full 12. Either way, I think we'll all need to do some serious lobbying around SF if we want to see this boot put into production...

Very interested - any chance of a commando sole equivalent?

LoL! There are very limited options from C&J. One is Danite the other is a full rubber sole. I don't find Danite to be particularly comfortable myself and I am of the belief that with a Whiskey Boot, you really don't want to wear the light shell in weather. Thus my inclination towards Double Leather. It is also how C&J makes the Lindricks.

Fair enough. Still very interested so count me in. I assume the cordovan will be sourced from Horween?

Yes sir! Their shoe details are better than Alden, but they don't use an acrylic finisher (to my knowledge) so just brush less and buff more. Some prefer their shells this way anyways.

Update: The Quota has been reached!!! I sent out a *good* number of PMs today to folks who have a taste to lighter Shell and may not know or track this thread, so I am going to wait until Monday and then I am going to start contacting individuals listed below to see if they are 100% in on this GMTO. Once I get 12 (or more) individuals confirmed, I am going to contact Lauren to lock up the specs and get the ball rolling. More to come soon!

I would be in for a whiskey (or possibly other shell colors*) Harlech or Gianni. I really dig the Dainite and all eyelets combo on mdubs's boots.

*What are the options with C&J?

I think a black cordovan harlech would be badass.

Awesome, Mike! Glad you got this going and I have no doubt I will be kicking myself once you all receive them.

Also kudos to C&J for aligning themselves to make this work

They are...for you!!

I have my lighter shell Trickers boot, walnut shell AE boot and the Edwardian Galway (en route) so they don't make a ton if sense for me. But you...
