i hope we can get shell again next year. i missed out on the rain lasted captoe boots oooof
I'll be getting my Harlechs before you
I wonder if they'll be closer to Alden's Ravello shade than Alden's whiskey shade. And I am hoping the lack of speed hooks don't make the boot too much a hassle to put on.
Where did you get the laces that you are using on your harlechs?
They are Alden flat waxed laces.
I love speed hooks - so convenient.
Thanks. So how do your Harlechs look in person? I know pictures can be deceiving. More on the pale side? Some of the pictures from other members made it seem a little more ravello. Yours look a little paler. I know probably also significantly less shine than Alden shell, right?
Yes less shine which is just how I like it.
They are a little pale, and paleness was definitely something I was concerned about while waiting for these to arrive all those months ago. They are nowhere near as pale as some Alden whiskey I've seen which I'm thankful for, but they aren't as dark as Ravello. These really are a unique shade of brown - not too light but not too dark. Wonderful boots.
I am hoping the shade of mine is similar to yours, a little pale but not too pale. That would be perfect for me.
Mine have also darkened slightly from wearing them outdoors.
Yeah whiskey darkens relatively easily if you want it to. I brush my rider whiskey boots with the same brush used for #8/cigar and they are now a nice shade of Ravello
I may have to try that. I thought I had read somewhere about doing that but knowing you do it makes me want to try it now.
Congrats to those who have received their tracking information, however I am with AldenFan and Wklq76a in that I have not been informed of my two shoes shipping yet. They will get here soon enough...
Yes - got my tracking number this morning! Looks like I'll receive them shortly after the long weekend
