The Polo shoes marked benchmade in England are C&J. Some are made to C&J's main line standards, a few to their Handgrade standards.

I believe the new Bloomingdales on Wisconsin Avenue/Chevy Chase was slated to carry some though I have yet to see evidence of it...and the new Barney's in San Francisco is reputed to have a few models.

I didn't see any at Bloomies earlier this month. In fact, I was a bit disappointed in the selection. Call Saks Men's Store in Friendship Hts/Mazza, I recall their selection was quite nice.

Also, try Wilkes Bashford in SF.

In SFO, Barney's has a very limited selection on the sixth floor. Only a couple of models. Hardly worth the effort.

Wilkes doesn't carry C&J. Mostly Lobb, Stephano Bi and Gravati.

Some mid level RL Polo shoes are made by C&J, and there is a Ralph Lauren store near Union Square, but I have never looked at shoes there and don't know what they might have. Another problem with Polo labelled C&J shoes is that they are sized in US sizes and may actually use slightly different (?narrower) lasts than the versions sold as C&J, so it wouldn't be completely straightforward to extrapolate Polo fittings to C&J fittings unless you knew exactly how they made the conversion to US sizes.

No one else in SF carries C&J that I am aware of.

My suggestion to you is to send Shyam at Plal and e-mail. He is extrememly helpful and his recommendations are typically spot on. For my first order he offered to take the shoe back if it didn't fit (which it did, beautifully).

I'm pretty sure that Saks (Mazza) does not carry C&J. I could be wrong, but that would stick in my mind had I seen any there.
