Good morning,

I've searched around and found a lot of conflicting information so I thought I would just ask you guys here. I'm interested in purchasing some Cockett & Jones for Ralph Lauren Marlow in dark brown but given the price (even used) I want to make sure I get the sizing correct. I wear a 7.5D in the Alden Barrie last. Any advice and/or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I was wondering how you made out? I wear the Barrie in an 8D and have been debating the Marlows but don’t want to midsize these given the price.

EDIT: I did NOT size down, I kept the exact same size I wear in the Barrie last.
I kept the same size as I wear in the Barrie last. I purchased them used so I'm not sure if there was a stretching period for my feet or if that's just how the sizing is. They feel fine now, I definitely don't notice any tightness.

I really hope this helps. For what it's worth, I love these shoes and will probably keep them forever.

I sized down a half size from what I wear in a Barrie and they fit, although they were quite snug at first. I purchased them used so I'm not sure if there was a stretching period for my feet or if that's just how the sizing is. They feel fine now, I definitely don't notice any tightness.

Thanks.. sized down and kept a “D” width?

Excuse me. I just double checked. I actually kept the EXACT same size as my Barrie last size. For example, I wear a 7.5D in the Barrie last and purchased a 7.5D in the Marlows for Ralph Lauren. I apologize for any confusion.

Hi SF,

I just purchased a pair of Crockett & Jones Marlow for Ralph Lauren. It’s sized 9,5 D to according to the seller and after my research I presume the sizing to be for the US market and the last should be 314.

Can anyone translate this into UK sizing? My guess is 9 E. Can this be right?

I wear:

Alden Barrie, US 9 C/E
Alden Aberdeen, US 9,5 C/E
Crockett & Jones 325, UK 8,5 E (a bit snug)

Does this seem right?

Best wishes,
Christian

I know this is an old post but I have all 4 Marlow so in case anyone is wondering how they fit. Also the U.K. size is 1 full size down from the US size.

I wear a 10B in AE 65 last
I wear a 9.5C in Alden Loafers
I take the 9.5 in the Marlow Penny (314 last)
I take the 9 in all the other 3 Marlow styles.

The Marlow loafers are both great options for those with higher arches. Both of them are significantly better fitting than Alden loafers for me with the damn tight strap.
