Bucksfan, great pics, especially the one of "the city" at night. Even when sauntering up Wall Street you won't see many gentlemen wearing as good a pair of shoes as your RL Marlow PTB's. Having the company of a nice lady on ones arm is always a bonus. Honestly if I had to leave the house with one pair of dress shoes today the Marlow PTB's would get get the nod. In a word, versatility. I got the RL wingtips and PTB's in the same size, but that's just me. Many guys in this forum have remarked about the break-in time for the Marlow wingtips. I think that the sometimes excruciating length of break-in time owes itself in large part to the quality of their construction, heavily brogued pieces of shell cordovan on top of each other, and also to the fact that many SF members have some pretty deep footwear rotations. Both pairs of your shoes look really good. Love the argyles.

CJ uses plywood substitute for their outsole. They are without a doubt the sturdiest outsoles I've experienced. In fact they feel like a triple leather sole and literally take years to break in. My wingtips are very maleable now but that after 400ish wears. My pennies are under 100 and feel new still

    Fantastic boots:

I went a 1/2 size down from TTS and they fit pretty well. They're a little long but the width definitely would not work for me in a full size down (I almost always need an E width).

These look fantastic. Yes the boot is roomy in length and width. Damn comfortable right smack out of the box. Good post!

LOL I wouldn't say that... I have a few videos up there, to spread the word about shell cordovan shoes. I was disappointed early on when I searched for shell cordovan on youtube all the videos found were by or for foot fetishists.

I'm soft. Just ordered the last 11.5 Lindrick in the system, from the NY store. Should be here early next week. I validated it by saying to myself that if they fit much better than my size 12 Marlow wingtips I'll sell the Marlows... we'll see if that actually happens.

Good call. The wingtip tip is a bit of a tweener. The Lindrick is squarely 1/2 sizes down from tts

Which SF member is it that has the leather tongue stays for boots? Predictably, the tongue in the left boot doesn't want to sit straight.

For me it's both aesthetics and comfort. There is so much more that can be done on a boot than a shoe in regards to aesthetics because of the shaft on the boot. More space more to work with. I find the majority of my boots to be extremely comfortable, and in fact more so just because of the extra support provided by the shaft of the boot.
