I have some wear on the Lindrick now. The toe box is so solid...I love the creasing (or lack of compared to others I have).

Shouldaville, I think the toe box is so solid because C&J uses a plastic reinforcer, at least that's what I've read here before.

Interesting...it certainly has me checking out other C&J models.

Shouldaville, again I'm not absolutely sure about that, but it's worth further investigation. I'm not a cobbler and my knowledge of modern Goodyear welted shoe construction techniques is scant, but I have to assume that there is a good reason for such manufacturing methods.

Simply stunning sir. How comfortable are they? 11D is my size too. If they don't work out pm me. Lol. Congratulations and wear them in good health.

as far as open-laced wingtips are concerned:

    RL Lindrick
    Vass Austerity Boot in Shell
    Alden WIngtip Plaza #8
    EG Alderly

Also EG Galway and EG Nevis. I would give nod to EG but thats hardly a surprise. EG doesnt even need to make the boot in shell for an outstanding outcome

I'm a Barrie 10.5D/Grant 11 and I was a bit worried about sizing. But try-on after a long day with thin socks and they feel amazing, not as stiff as I would have expected. Not sure whether I'll be in touch, but thank you, they are gorgeous. :slayer:
