As promised here are some photos of the Marlow wingtips I aquired last week-collected from B Nelson last night with toe plates added.

I've been looking at the contributors to this thread, there are some ultra nice patina that have developed - currently mine are a deep dark chocolate brown so hopefully they'll lighten up a little after some wear.

I probably need to apply more elbow grease to get a better shine, brushed a few mins with horsehair before snapping the pics

Should start wearing them to break in for the fall!!
Looking good!!

How much did the toe plates cost?

$40 - I've been getting them added to all my latest pairs as I tend to destroy the toe within a few wears!Definitely worth adding if your gait is similar and comes in handy after a few beers and you fancy showing the crowd your tap dancing skills (joke) :)

Got my Marlows today. These things make me want to go out and kick some ass :slayer:

I did go down half a size and I'm glad I did. Insole length of 11.75 should be perfect. I would have been swimming in a half size up.

They do feel a bit tight. Forum wisdom says that cordovan will stretch over time. Any tips on speeding up the process? They've already stretched a bit with the high volume C&J trees inside.

Can I use a shoe stretching solution on the cordo?

A nitpick, does the right shoe look lighter than the left? Any way to even out the tone with UV light or polish?
