If you have the occasions to wear them to, they are quite spiffy. Or, rather, maybe my life is lacking in that I don't have such occasions to attend ... hmmm.

Maybe I'll just have to find those occasions to go to.

Drat, I just missed the Kentucky Derby.

    Oh well, maybe next year.[IMG]

    Yes they should be EG.

My fault for posting them in a CJ thread, but this is where I found out about the RL sale.

Thanks for providing this other link. It is interesting that on this other site they describe them as being leather and suede, and on the RL site they are just calf.

Also it mentions on the site you provided as being fully lined and on RL only partially lined.

My wingtips seem to be a much darker, chocolatey shade than everyone else's. I like it, but also looking forward to patina.

I like your chocolaty brown wingtips. I wonder if when the shells are going to be tanned that the end result is dictated by the quality of the shells. I'm assuming that all of the Horween shells that C&J uses are of good quality. Maybe the color of your wingtips was dictated by who stitched them together. I've been told that the variation in color, even in the same pair of shoes, is just the nature of shell cordovan. I really don't know enough about shoemaking to give an informed answer. If any other members are shoemakers out there maybe they could provide a better explanation. Also, I'm too f'n lazy to search the web this morning. Gotta go make the donuts.

Fantastic shine. Did they do the whole wipe down, deer-bone, fancy brushing thing that I've seen in YouTube videos about shining shell cordovan shoes?

I thought they all more or less started like that.

I assume your pair hasn't been worn too much. I'm already seeing the lighter shades of brown crop up now in the month that I've now owned and wore them.

They are still in break in phase in the office carpet. It may be in this phase for another month with the way the soles feel, which is to say like walking on a solid plank of wood. I've applied 1 coat of Saphir Cordovan Care Cream plus buffed and brushed.

They are coming along nicely. Now to get my hands on the PTB or Lindricks....this does stop doesn't it?
