    RL Marlows wingtips arrived today. I ordered two different sizes for comparison.[​IMG] A half size down from my tts of 11.5 are the ones that fit the best. [​IMG] Their construction is first rate for a mass produced shoe. [​IMG][​IMG] [​IMG] Here are a couple looks on feet. [​IMG] w/Marcoliani Merino wool argyle OTC [​IMG] These are for the style conscious and fashion forward shoe aficionados. [​IMG] Don't forget the Marcoliani cashmere/silk argyle socks. [​IMG]Thanks to everyone who turned me on to these very nice shoes. My feet are happy!

    Some were talking about shine and I'll just add that Venetian did wonders for mine. Gave them a slightly darker glow and really buffed out beautifully. I was surprised... I'll try to add a photo or two tomorrow

    They were good - I was on the Dark Oak Dover. The quality is superb but having troublesome flatter feet, the last was pretty pointy and cramped in the toebox...

    I'm considering picking up a pair of the marlow shell cordovan tassel loafers from the megathread in the BST here. He's only got a size 10.5, and my TTS is b/w a 10 and a 10.5. Don't have much reference with C&J lasts; only reference I can give is that I wear a 10D in the AE 5 last. Could I work with a 10.5 with some tongue pads or something or is my money better spent elsewhere?

    In my opinion, you are better off wait for 1 pair of 10D to come around.

    Super comfy more so than Marlows as they for a bit bigger so pinky toes feel a little better after a day or wear. Still a bit too narrow for me though

    I just bought 8 pairs, with an emailed coupon for 35% off and $2.50 shipping.


    The Ultras are adjustable. I noticed the small holes drilled in the wood and experimented with a small Phillips screwdriver to see which way to turn to make them shorter and narrower. They are still large enough that I only use them for my boots and "clunky" shoes built on larger lasts, but they work OK.
