I guess the Marlow wingtips would be better for warmer weather and the Lindrick is a great rainy weather boot. I have them both and love them both but for me, the Lindrick has the edge.

Anyone add either a commando or dainite sole to their Lindricks?? :hide:

I have topied and steel toed my Marlow Wingtips and Tassel Loafer, as well as on my other C&J shoes as the C&J leather soles (I abuse the toes especially) seem to wear more quickly than say Trickers etc....

if so, any pics?? :D

definitely lindricks over marlows. if money is no object and you want everything get both but honestly once you have lindricks you dont need the marlows. ud be better putting your money into the pennys, ptb, or tassles

I actually leave the shell at home when it;s raining. Afraid of the welts. I opt for calf or suede when it rains.

I usually leave my EG home when it rains and grab a pair of cordovan on calf shoes for the rain. Now that it is winter--boots.

Actually getting my Lindricks toppied now for better traction. Will pick up tomorrow--just in time for this storm!

So, have you ever had problems with leather showing welts? If so do you just take it in stride and use a spoon or deer bone to smooth them out?
