I've read most of the threads that suggesting a full size down on the 337 for regular US width (US D); however, does this 1 size down recommendation also apply for those with wider widths (e.g., US E width). Since the 337 is a 'spacious' last, is a full enough to accommodate wide (US E) when down a full size?

i cant answer your question specifically, but to say that a 337 is wider than a 348. I'd go so far as to say that a 348 F width is equivalent to the 337 E width. These are UK widths so adjust accordingly.

358 iS apparently same as 348 except its handgrade, there may be slightly more generous size in handgrade than equivalent benchgrade. I say this from experience trying them on iN CJ store in London, and subsequent purchases of 358 and 337.

I am a USA 10.5/11E and UK10 337s fit comfortably on me but snuggish.

Swung by the C&J store and tried on the 337. I was very surprised to find out that even the 6E was full for me and actually had to go down to a 5.5E to get a nice fit (I wear 6E for other C&J lasts, and UK6 for most British makers). I guess there goes my fantasy of having a closet full of handgrades 337s since I think most of them start off at 6E.

Might be a good thing for my retirement fund though.
