I'm at work but if you're in the market for Wing Tips, I'd check out some nice Aldens at Leather Soul, check out their website and you'll find black wingtips on their front page, although I think they are balmorals not bluchers.

The 325 last is more attractive than the aberdeen or barrie or whatever last Alden uses.

Also consider fit. The 325 has a pretty high instep, and the aberdeen, although I've never tried it, supposedly has a pretty wide heel.

Pembroke all the way. But then again, RL's Darltons are pretty awesome.

Agree with this completely. With the exception of shell I like my C&J better.

Also they should be right at the same price.

I think the time to buy Aldens is when another shoemaker doesn't make a very similar shoe or boot. ie, a custom makeup, or a boot, or a rare shell color.

I'm an Alden fan, but the Pembroke is a great looking shoe.

The RL Darlton wingtips are awesome and they actually are the C&J Pembroke (I emailed C&J to ask after I bought a pair). The OP should locate a pair of black RL Darlton wingtips and, assuming the regular price is reasonable, wait for RL to have a sale (I just checked the website and all they show are brown shell cordovan Darlton wingtips; no black).

Aldens can be had in a number of widths at no extra charge. I don't think the C&Js come in more than one width. Fit first, then looks.

If the C&Js fit you well, they'd be my choice.
