Hi - Does anyone know where to buy C&J's in NYC. I know that you can find a limited selection at some of the dept stores, but I'm specifically looking for the Derby's or maybe one of their Country shoes, and I would like the opportunity to see them in person and try them on before buying. Any information would be appreciated.

I've only seen them at Barneys in NYC---not a bad selection, but mainly custom benchgrade models rather than handgrade.

You can check Polo on Madison. Their made in England Polo shoes (not RLPL) are made by C&J. Currently, they have the Marlowe in plain toe and wingtip that can pass as country shoes. Also, Dunhill has some Poulson Skone shoes that are made by C&J. Also, some of Brooks' shoes are C&J.

Another option is Brooks Bros. Some of its Peale shoes are made by Crockett and some are made by Alfred Sargent.

Does C&J still make some of the BB Peal shoes? Someone posted recently that among the BB Peal, they used to be C&J but now are all AS. The black lettering on the sole means C&J and the gold lettering means AS.

Sorry for all the initials for those who haven't been following the shoe porn postings.

Which shoes at Brooks does C&J still make? And, are they better than the AS?

Text FWIW, I went to the 5th Ave. store yesterday and saw both (i.e. single and double rows on the heel).

I was told last year by the folks in the Oxxford store that the Edward Greens were being discontinued in favour of C&J. I havent been in the store to verify this fact however.

The Oxxford Store discontinued carrying Edward Green shoes and has not replaced them with any other shoe line.

I don't thing that the store is planning a shoe line since it is occupied with its long, overdue rennovations since its flood.

It is interesting to note that Oxxford's parent company, Indiviudalized Apparel, owns Crockett & Jones.

Don't know the history behind the store, but they had a pretty good selection as of yesterday. I was only browsing, so didn't look at sizes much, but they had racks worth of most styles.

The Turnbull & Asser store on 57th would be the place to go I think.

Does anybody know where you can get C&J Chelsea boots from here in NYC? Nobody seems to stock this model for some reason.

If your after C&J country shoes BSA inthe U.S has good prices. $500 for the coniston model for example.

The C&J shop in Turnbull & Asser doesn't have them? If they don't, they'll order them for you. Shouldn't take more than a couple weeks.

Duncan Quinn stocks a beautiful Chelsea Boot by Cleverley in London. They are also offering a small promotion of around 20%......
