Crockett and Jones defective cordovan?

I bought a pair of Crockett and Jones cordovan boots in London last month and I'm not sure they are what I expected.The leather feels dry and has creased despite shoe trees. Whatis your take on these?

Maybe I'm exaggerating, but would like to hear the opinion of others. Thanks!

C&J cordovan has well known issues with dryness in some batches of shell cordovan, and requires some maintenance (conditioning and brushing). For more detail these two threads might be helpful:

What do you think about the creasing?

the pictures aren't very clear but I think the creasing looks worse than it is because of the waxes spewing out of the shell. I would suggest buffing with a horsehair brush, and the white gunk should come off.

If it doesnt then it's very dry shell indeed!
