From Pediwears web site:

"IMPORTANT NOTICE! In the past year, and increasingly during the last 6 months, the demand for Crockett & Jones footwear has escalated significantly. This is due to the underlying strength of the brand and the ongoing investments they have been making in product development, marketing and retail worldwide. As a result, there is a backlog of orders and delayed deliveries. Please be assured Crockett & Jones are urgently doing everything possible to resolve this matter. However, regretfully, we will not be accepting further non stock orders until March 2011. We will be placing on our Web Site styles /sizes that are readily available by the 10th of January. Please accept our sincere apologies for the disappointment and inconveniece our action may cause you."

Shame to hear about it, but good on them for being honest and proactive about letting people know. Better to be told in advance than to place an order and be told, after the fact, that it can't be fulfilled.

Interesting. I just placed an order with them last night. I wonder how that would work out.

Absolutely

I wonder what impact the product placement in Wall Street 2 had on their sales?

Even bigger impact was probably made by their US retail surge over the course of 2010. They signed partnerships with a lot of US clothing brands and stores. They also received a ton of attendant coverage in the likes of GQ and Esquire and such.

Makes me feel slightly less special for having C&J shoes when many of the great unwashed might no longer be walking around in square-toed Aldos.

That would explain the lack of contact regarding the C&Js I ordered on boxing day....hopefully they tell me I 'got in before the lock'.

Otherwise, its great news for a great company (both C&J and Pediwear). Both are doing an outstanding job.

**edit- Ya, they are canceling or delaying my order (up to me). I've canceled but I'll return once their stocks are back in order.

In the mean time, I'll be ordering some Aldens! A very reasonable alternative!!!

Yep. I ordered a pair of C&J Selbourne back in November which just shipped two days ago. The wait was fine with me, though. It's not like I'm going to run out of shoes.

The shoe trees are still on backorder, though.

Richard the Shoehealer also sells C&Js even though they're not listed on his website; if you e-mail him he can set you up.

I may be wrong but I thought the little sign to the right of him in the scene was Churchs? I remember thinking he just made $100M -> $1bn and I love Churchs but maybe he'd be at Cleverley or Lobb getting bespoke?

Belated Happy New Year by the way, lets hope for a better 2011 for all of us.

I placed an order with Bodiley's yesterday and got a similar response - they didn't charge my card and said try again in March.
