Hi. I found this jacket in my closet so decided to try it on. I'd like to buy a sportscoat or blazer but don't really know how it should fit, so could you guys critique the fit of this jacket so that I know what to look out for in a future purchase?

This jacket is size 38R, in case that is needed to recommend a different size altogether in addition to tailoring.

Sorry for bad pic quality, but this is the best I could do after 30 shots lol.

Shoulders look a touch wide, and it's not exactly form-fitting -- seems to hang off your body a bit, and there's very little waist suppression. The collar's also less than ideal. But overall, not a bad fit. It's a bit of an old-fashioned cut, with what looks like quite a bit of shoulder padding, but it'll do in a pinch I think.

I'm always a little baffled when people announce that they've "found" something in their closets. Just how forgetful can you get?

Try a 36 at the store. Should fit you better.

Lol well not really forgetful, just that it belonged to my father from a LONG time ago and was in the back corner. Was cleaning it out and saw it there.
