What should be added/removed and why? Also any advice about hiring someone for this type of position would be appreciated. *The grammar/spelling/structure/etc will be worked out. Assistant to the Chairman & CEO- This position supports the Chairman and CEO and acts as a right hand in the management of administrative and personal matters, while providing valuable support to the organization as needed. The successful candidate must be a critical thinker, make important decisions without full guidance, and "navigate the gray." Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment where multi-tasking and prioritizing is critical with other key executives and enjoys doing so on a daily basis. This is a high pressure, demanding atmosphere therefore qualified applicants must have thick skin and be able to work until the job is complete. Key Responsibilities- • Maintains strict confidentiality in all matters. Must exercise tact, initiative, diplomacy and good judgment in working with all levels of personnel. • Acts as an "ambassador" for the executive. • Manage the CEO's schedule and appointments, as well as the daily responsibilities of the executive office • Arrange travel for the CEO, making necessary air, ground, hotel and other logistical arrangements. Also arrange personal travel plans and arrange complete trip itinerary, with detailed agenda in a format to be provided by CEO. • Attend executive meetings and prepare minutes. • Provides backup administrative coverage as required. Screens telephone calls, types routine correspondence, process incoming and outgoing mail, sends faxes, etc. • Performs a variety of special projects as assigned. • Can provide a draft letter to CEO after being provided with general instructions and information regarding content. • Must have ability to express ideas clearly and effectively in both written and oral correspondence to all levels of management. Knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and required formats are important. • Has an understanding (or can learn) fundamental accounting/bookkeeping concepts on Quicken and related software to properly manage CEO's books and provide reports as needed. • Must possess strong file management, organization and oversight. • Must possess strong research skills. • Can coordinate with personal accountant to provide accountant with detailed data on all matters impacting CEO's tax situation. • Can be a strong advocate in negotiating matters with third parties. • Managing miscellaneous personal matters for the CEO. Character Traits and Attributes - • High integrity • Smart • Have a professional comportment/composure at all times. • Can effectively and efficiently multi-task. • Has a strong work ethic. • Takes a proactive approach beyond what is asked of him/her and has strong follow through on projects. In this regard, the E.A. must have a high level of initiative and self-motivation. • Pleasant demeanor • Reasonably fast typist. • Not reserved in expressing an opinion and having a voice in the process. • Can take constructive criticism. Qualifications- ·4 year degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. ·Must have 5+ years of experience supporting upper level management (CEO, President, or Director) ·Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. ·Proficient writing and proofreading skills. ·Must have excellent working knowledge and proven ability of all Microsoft Office products (Word, Access, Excel, and Power Point). ·Must have iPhone knowledge ·Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines; excellent accounting and math skills ·Detail oriented; responsive to deadlines and ability to communicate at all levels throughout an organization. ·Possess excellent interpersonal skills. ·Candidate should be a self-starter and enthusiastic worker willing to work in a team environment. It is important that the candidate be professional, flexible and dependable. ·Notary Public preferred but not required

I would put in a good paragraph or two about the company. Give the prospective employee a little excitement and buy-in at the place they'll be working.

She? Why wouldn't they have Mac OS X knowledge because they have knowledge of how to use an iPhone?

Some overlapping points could be combined to make it more concise:

• Handles sensitive information with appropriate discretion.
This is already covered by the confidentiality line.

There are three or four points about scheduling (travel, meetings, calendar management) that could be combined.
