As ever ,the creativity must be coming for the accessories more than from the suit itself.....
You can try the blended look but you can finish looking like a security guard or a flight attendant!!!!!!!

I would advise you to try a more creative input with a burgundy tie or with an interesting pattern....Elegance is simplicity and balance, never forget that....

IF you just want to gear up, at least get rid of the corporate vibe that's making you look like you just got off work in an office.

If it isn't a formal bday party, remember that being well dressed also means taking into account the environment you're going to and if everyone's wearing super casual polos/jeans/sneakers then you might want to rethink wearing a suit and opt for smart casual instead.

That outfit, if we're going to be frank here, is more appropriate for a funerary celebration than a birthday celebration.

Why don't you ask somebody to surprise you with a designer tie for your birthday?
Risky but cunning...
You have to be sure that your friends have received some kind of sartorial educational...
Tell them that you have received on this particular site a real "sartorial hiding" from a bunch of old farts/snobs and drop a few designers names you really love in the same conversation...
If you 're really pushy or without any shame ,you can also drop some hints regarding coloursand patterns...
if your friends are a bit cunning ,you may have a fantastic Hermes or Versace tie for your birthday....
You just have to turn up with an open white shirt and your suit and your girlfrinds/friends will have the chance to personalize your outfit...
