Look like British Airways staff uniforms!

Those berets are just shocking.

And to have a logo that big at something like the Olympics is surely not on.

And they are made in China:fu:
Big Polo fan, and he't not repping his brand(s) properly.

All suits should be MTM purple label -- we're talking a billion+ dollar company here.

Even if the suits cost Polo couple hundred grand, they are receiving millions worth of exposure, and had they done it right, sales would have spiked. They've had years to plan for this.

These outfits suck.

I'm not necessarily saying I like these outfits, but lol @ random people on the internet calling out RL for not repping his brand properly. This guy has had more success repping his brand than anyone ever, with the possible exception of Giorgio Armani. I'm inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he knows what he's doing.

So, because a company has seen a tremendous amount of success they are immune to mistakes and incorrect brand positioning from time to time? The results speak for themselves -- these uniforms have generated much more negative pub than positive. RL is supplying uniforms in an effort to be patriotic, main goal being to increase sales. Not so sure people are going to want to run out and buy Polo suits/sportswear because of these fugly uniforms.

Polo could have dropped the hammer on the world stage and come up with something classically American, instead they are being ridiculed for ugly uniforms made in China.

In my opinion (better)? Polo did not rep their brands properly (in this case).

Also should get rid of the logo, double breast, and metal buttons

Seriously though, it shouldn't be too hard to make someone with Olympic physique look good.

I would wait until the actual sales numbers come in instead of basing level of success on the reactions of "critics". Obviously they're not infallible, but I would trust their judgement over mine, or yours, or even over that of many "critics".

Do you think Polo could have done a much better job of presenting something that really wowed people? Maybe the sales will increase by leaps and bounds, perhaps this will be worthwhile for them overall, I just expected more from Ralph -- one of my all time favorite designers. You know it's in vogue to hate "Merica", I feel like Polo could have made a true statement on the global stage.
