Hello all,
I am almost through my last bottle of Crema Nubiana, bought from Franco's.
However, they don't seem to stock it anymore.

What would be a suitable (or better..) alternative to it?

Thanks.

I am sure that Saphir's NAPA/Renovateur is similar

I heard that the former is better but this is good stuff nonetheless.

I read something about they changed the formula on the Nubiana, the Alpina is not the same, and that's I vaguely recall why Ron at Franco's won't stock it any more. Maybe call Franco's or send Ron an email. He'll help.

Yes, the Renovateur is the product I recommend.

Nubiana became too difficult to import, and the formula was not the same as what I had previously brought in. Used to be 'Crema Alpina' and was very good.....turns out Bata bought the exclusive rights to that so it turned to 'Crema Nubiana'. I decided to only offer Renovateur....no real need for anything else from my side.

Thank you all!

I am sorry to hear this. While I never got to try the original Crema Alpina, and while Renovavteur is certainly good stuff, I still definitely prefer the Crema Nubiana to the Renovateur. I find the latter tricky to use. I hope Crema Nubiana will someday become available again.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
