I'm a fan of creed fragrances, but being non-synthetic I find it's necessary to try them on the skin a few times before deciding, as they sometimes smell good on paper and on skin right away, but then later turn sour because of bad clashes with your personal body chemistry.

At any rate, BeautyEncounter.com, previously perfumebay.com, sell samples, and at $1.99 per 0.05 ounces the samples actually aren't much more expensive than the actual fragrance, so you can buy all the samples vials you want safe in the knowledge that you're not overpaying, which to me at least sounds great. Trouble is, if you're not US based you're gonna get fucked on the shipping cost, as this is per parcell I guess rather than determined by weight, so for me to get one sample it's about $2 for the sample, and $25 for the shipping. If I end up going for Bois du Portugal, which is the one I want a sample of, I'll throw a bunch of other samples in and it's all good, but until I've decided to get the fragrance I can't get a sample.

So what I'm looking for is for someone to point me either in the direction of another website that can provide samples at a less ridiculous shipping cost, or somewhere in london where samples can be bought at a reasonable price.

Doesn't Harrods have a Creed counter? I got a big sample of BdP from a Creed counter in LA. I would phrase it that your GF loves the scent and wants you to buy it, but you want to be sure it works on you.
