I noticed a $300+ charge on my last statement that I never paid for. I called my cc company already. Anyone experienced this before? Will I get my $ back?

Update:
within a week, the charges were taken off my acount and I got a new card. Thanks Chase!

Yes, it happened to me. The cc company removed the charge and issued me a new card.

The purchases on my card were in Canada. They actually swiped a card, but not mine.

a small charge on my card that was not mine. i called up it was in min. im in il. they took it off and no problem.
2 months later i get a call. this company knows about the false charge its not my cc co. they want to sell me some sort of protection policy. he did not say so but implicated he was from my cc co. when they ask for my bank checking no. i told him f***off.
sounds like they have a well organized system.

i had exactly the same thing. I was actually out of canada at the time in slovenia and they cancelled my visa. apparently someone here in canada had swiped "my card" but didn't have the 3 digit code on the back. so I got the card cancelled and the charges were wiped, new card issued. it was just funny though becuase I thought they had cancelled it becuase I was in a strange foreign country, when in fact it was becuase I told them before I left htat I would be overseas and a local charge is what alerted them!

they called me at my home phone # asking me if I was in the phillipines...I laughed and told the idiot it'd be hard for me to be there and answering my home phone at the same time. My cc had over 8k of charges on it in 4 hours which were quickly deleted.

was lying down in bed and all of a sudden I get a phone call. Was about 3 in the morning and it was a rep from my bank asking me if I was in London? I said I wasn't. She informed me that there was a 1000 pound transaction at Harrods. The transaction stayed on my account for three months, but did not incur any interests.

I have no idea how they get the credit card numbers.

After my card was used fraudulently, I read about the different methods perpetrators use to steal numbers and create cards. Unfortunately, I don't remember the details of the methods.

I had this happen a couple of years ago. I was fleeced for a few thousand dollars from a cash machine in Budapest. It was very easy to dispute the charges but I was surprised that I had to bring the transactions to the attention of my bank. It's hard to purchase gas in Vegas and withdraw $500.00 from a bank in Hungary on the same day.

My bank couldn't tell me exactly how the crooks were able to get the information but suspected it was captured from a camera installed on an ATM machine.

It really pays to have an online account for your debit and credit cards. It makes the whole processes a lot more effective. Most fraudulent purchases that have been on my account I have seen within 24 hours and have gotten immediately reversed with a simple phone call. The quicker you act the better.

I just recently had some stupid site charge my card. My mom's friend had the same company charge her too, and she uses the same bank, so that is where the numbers could have been gotten from.
