Creative help needed : shoes patina

Hello

Long time lurker, let me first introduce myself, as it is far more polite :
- French, 33yo, living in Paris
- I have my shirts made by Jantzen since 2003 as i was lucky to go for 2 weeks in HK and was directed to Ricky by a friend who lives there.
- Found of shoes, my dressing is as composed of various models from Berluti, Aubercy and C&J
(it s good to live in Paris 500m off Aubercy main shop

)

... well enough about me, onto my question :

I just bought a pair of Carmina/Albaladejo Oxford shoes, and they are currently 'vanilla' (ie : waiting to get their patina)

The (very nice

) lady who does the patina here in Paris is awaiting for my inputs, but i am a little bit confused on what color i should get :
- i dont want black
- i dont want brown (i am no farmer __ just kidding, it s just i would love something a little bit different)
- i want to be able to wear those shoes at work (Consulting / Investment Banking environment) so with charcoal/grey/dark suits
- i want them to have a "je ne sais quoi" that makes them unique ...

This is where i need your help, do you have ideas and/or exemples of nice shoes (pictures will be the best).
Maybe :
- Dark Grey with some Purple touches
- Brown with some Green touches (why not ...)
- other ?

Welcome -

I think black with red highlights would look excellent, unique yet not too flashy. See Marc Guyot's site for one example, and souliers for another one (though I'm not sure where it is on the site, I think it is by Aubercy). In any case, please post pictures if you can of the before and after (and in-progress, if possible!) states of the shoes.

Or green with some brown touches? I've long had a soft spot for Marc Guyot's Vert Amande:

Aubercy has some amazing patinas (to use the term of art). They do some bright colors, of course, but also some of the most sublime brown/greens.

I think j's idea is a good one--black with the right highlights could be very interesting. A nice shade of purple/violet/aubergine might be good too.

I just saw John Lobb's plum museum calf and it is gorgeous. It's also very dark, so it struck me as almost as versatile as burgundy.

I also support something in the plum family. I've got the JL Garnier II in plum museum and it's one of favorie shoes.

I think i will go for Dark gray with Violet / Aubergine touches ...
I ll ask the patina girl for a sketch, and if it turns good, i ll go for it =)
Otherwise, back to the head-scrachin' heh

The Berluti catalog gave nothing serious as i found the original patinas not very suitable in my woking environment.

Ill keep u posted -incl pics if i can- of the developments.

Dark grey with violet/aubergine sounds like a truly inspired choice, Shadow. Please post as many pictures as you possibly can!
Aubercy does a really sublime dark olive (with some antique highlights). Here's an Aubercy shoe I thrifted here in San Francisco a while back:

John Lobb St.James has this lovely black with navy blue so that could be a possiblity.
