I just had some alterations done on a jacket. Ihad the sides taken in , and the sleeves lenghtened my problem is the original crease can still be seen. My tailor tried to remove it but could not remove it. The jacket is made of cotton. I was wondering if the dry cleaners could remove it, or do a better job of making it less visible.

The problem lies in the cotton. Very hard to remove creases from cotton. Best effort is to open the sleeve and and dampen the cloth at the crease and press from the inside/wrong side of the cloth. This gets better results than pressing on the top/face of the cloth. Most likely a trace of the crease will remain. Better to shorten and take in cotton rather than lengthen or have to let out.
