1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

What's the craziest, wackiest quote or post you've seen here.

This has to be my favorite:
"People are not sufficiently evolved enough to avoid war, we haven't learnt from the previous wars. What we need is one big war so we learn violence is not the answer... Please don't judge my statements so easily, they are well thought out arguments."

I prefer the subtlety of Alexis' current avatar.

As for quotes, although they rub me the wrong way most of the time, I'd have to say pretty much anything Ernest writes.

    Well, yeah:

"Heavy handicaped people who could never live all by themselves are useless to society, they spend time and money of their relative and of the State for nothing."

Hands down, it's got to be Styleman's post about meeting with world leaders and captains of industry, and being marked for greatness.

I don't know, I like Kalra's post about how he only uses cash to purchase items, but apparently doesn't carry enough cash to actually cover the price of purchase on some of the more expensive items, because that amount of cash would "˜arouse attention'.

and the operative word is "here". I quote:

"What's the craziest, wackiest quote or post you've seen here."

I also enjoy the posts that have me totally lost (because of specialized vocabulary, mainly)

I preffer the new Alexis avatar. It distracts less from the current topic. And it still reflects her beauty.

Mike Tyson is a one man army of great quotes: "The knee is fine, I've been training confuciusly." "Fear is your best friend or your worst enemy. It's like fire. If you can control it, it can cook for you; it can heat your house. If you can't control it, it will burn everything around you and destroy you. If you can control your fear, it makes you more alert, like a deer coming across the lawn." [On his childhood] "One morning I woke up and found my favorite pigeon, Julius, had died I was devastated and was gonna use his crate as my stickball bat to honor him. I left the crate on my stoop and went in to get something and I returned to see the sanitation man put the crate into the crusher. I rushed him and caught him flush on the temple with a titanic right hand he was out cold, convulsing on the floor like an infantile retard." "I just want to conquer people and their souls." "I'm on the Zoloft to keep from killing y'all." "I want to rip out his heart and feed it to him [Lennox Lewis]. I want to kill people. I want to rip their stomachs out and eat their children." "Everybody's got plans...until they get hit." "My main objective is to be professional but to kill him [Lennox Lewis]." "When I was in prison, I was wrapped up in all those deep books. That Tolstoy crap - people shouldn't read that stuff." "He [Tyrell Biggs] was screaming like my wife." "You can't stay married in a situation where you are afraid to go to sleep in case your wife might cut your throat." "Lennox Lewis, I'm coming for you man. My style is impetuous. My defense is impregnable, and I'm just ferocious. I want your heart. I want to eat his children. Praise be to Allah." I love Tyson's creation of the word "confuciusly". I've started to use it in conversation now myself. It could be the funniest "word" in the English language. This morning, I had a second fitting with Darren, who is altering my new suit confuciusly. Meanwhile, most participants on this board are working confuciusly to persuade Alexis to bring back her...explosive...old avatar. [IMG] Montecristo

Give the girl a break guys, or I'll send the "Traid" after you. Seriously, the whole Alexis/avatar thing got old, quick. And it's been about 3 guys who keep harping on about it. Yeah, you know who you are.

Gets my vote as well. Also, ernest's quotes about my being an overcompensating, underendowed Chineese (sic) really lifted my spirits for the flamewar that ensued.

Alexis's new avatar is fine by me -- she's (or, at the very least, the girl in the avatar) is just darn cute.

Hey, I was just demonstrating the proper use of the word confuciusly. I have to say I actually prefer the new picture. It's just a better image.

If we're allowed to go outside the SF, I'm partial to the following quote from Marion Barry, former mayor of Washington, D.C.:  "Outside of the killings, the crime rate in Washington is actually very, very low."

Is it the same girl? It's both close enough to be and yet different enough not to be.
